Scimitars are hard to come by in the game in general, and the reasons why are obvious. Windshear, however, is one scimitar that you definitely should be going out to find, given its unique enchantment. To obtain it, you must look around on the ship called The Katariah, which can only be accessed during the Dark Brotherhood quest Hail Sithis!
It can be found at the end of the bow in the front of the ship, embedded into it. Magic in Skyrim is pretty powerful in itself, though levelling it up is more tedious than other skills. The Staff of Magnus is one such quest that lets you obtain the powerful Staff of Magnus, which absorbs 20 magicka per second and, if the target is out of magicka, 20 health. Once you have it, though, dueling magic-based enemies is a lot easier.
Aside from being a great expansion in itself, Dawnguard adds plenty of new lore and items that players can go out and explore. For one, its base damage of 13 is one of the highest in the game for bows, making it a great weapon on its own. It also applies 20 points of Sun Damage on the target; a kind of an equivalent to Fire damage in the base game, but still not exactly fire.
It deals triple damage to zombie-like enemies, which could be stacked up with perks. Its draw time is also lower than other bows, making it especially dangerous against enemies like vampires. You can get this bow at the end of the Touching the Sky quest in Dawnguard. All Skyrim players have a unique style to their gameplay, carefully choosing their weapons and armor to build their own undefeatable Dragonborn.
Dual-wielding scimitars, however, are not something chosen by most, as they come with several problems. Still, for the few who have mastered it, the dual-wielded combo of Soulrender and Bloodscythe is too good to miss out on. Used together, both the scimitars deal damage of 15 points for health and magicka.
Both of the swords can be found in the Dragonborn expansion, near the skeletal remains of their previous owner - a pirate called Haknir Death-Brand - at the end of the quest Deathbrand.
Available in the Dawnguard expansion, the Dragonbone line of weapons are some of the most powerful base weapons to stack enchantments on. Dragonbone Mace is one such weapon, which features the highest base damage of any one-handed weapon you could craft. Enchanted with the right enchantments, it makes for possibly the most powerful mace in the game.
Besides crafting it at a forge, you can also obtain it after defeating one of the three Keepers in Soul Cairn; a plane in Oblivion that can be accessed during the quest Chasing Echoes. Depending on your level, the sword can deal a damage of 16, which makes it a formidable weapon once you put some enchantments on it. To get it, you must loot the corpse of Miraak after, of course, defeating him in the final quest of the expansion called At the Summit of Apocrypha.
No question it's a beautiful piece, but where have we seen it before? Ah, that's right. It almost took our heads in Helgen. Of course, that makes it a picture perfect keepsake for the Dragonborn. But the only way to grab it is from the executioner, Ahtar, in Solitude. You can either do him a favor and win him over as a follower, take a shot at stealing it, or pry it from his cold, gone hands.
Yeah, yeah, we know. Maybe that grinds your gears a little bit. While it's easy to point out that the bow looks absolutely ridiculous, it packs a punch and can inflict a variety of afflictions on your target. These include but aren't limited to frost damage, paralysis, and frenzy.
This spooky, scary, spectral blade is incredibly lightweight, and carries a limitless enchantment that does armor-ignoring damage, making it a wonderful addition to the armory.
Devotees of the Blades will, at the very least, want this one on their mantle, if not in their hands. It's also highly recommended to go scoop this one up before beginning the quest "Ill Met By Moonlight," just to avoid any potential complication.
Just look for the hidden shrine to Talos once you're there, and you shouldn't have too difficult of a time locating it. This wicked looking little dagger is every bit as deadly as it looks, and is entirely worth the pains taken to get your hands on it. With every strike, the Razor has a small chance to instantly slay its victim. You can discover the quest to claim this priceless relic in one of two ways, by reaching level twenty and receiving a letter, or heading directly to Dawnstar and visiting the museum.
If smacking your foes about with a great big hammer is your angle, you may have felt like Skyrim gave you the shaft. You also probably never got your hands on Volendrung. Largashbur is an orcish fort in the southern reaches of the Rift, near the Jerall mountains.
The orcs hanging out there have a little giant problem that they want your help solving. Fight a giant, get the quest, fight some more giants. Prepare accordingly. And then the Daedric Prince inhabiting the cheerful abode will later have you completely brutalize a caged priest with his rusty mace. Weapons can be upgraded at a grindstone with the right materials and perks.
Daggers are the lightest and fastest-swinging of the one-handed weapons, but deal the least damage compared to other weapons in their class. However, they also receive much higher damage bonuses from sneak attacks with the right perks.
Maces are the heaviest and slowest of the one-handed weapons, but deal the most damage. Swords are slightly slower than daggers, but deal more damage, though swords are faster and weaker than maces and axes. War axes are slower than swords but deal more damage. They are faster than maces but deal less base damage.
Battleaxes are slower than greatswords, but deal more damage. They are faster than warhammers but deal less damage. Greatswords are the fastest of the two-handed weapons, but deal the least damage. Warhammers are the slowest of the two-handed weapons, but deal the most base damage. They are stronger than most bows, but fire slower.
