That looks like Candy Blue over Silver Vein, correct? I have done a bunch of that, great combination of colors. Did you do it or have it done? I powder coated for almost 6 years. Mainly I did specialty work not so much the production aspect. Its not a silver vein its a tight silver texture that doesnt have the black in it.

Follow directions, spray off the goop Once you have all that done The you can polish the chromo with sandpaper. You can start with the rough stuff, then polish it out with finer and finer paper.

How many times do I change the sandpaper type grit count and what grit do I use. I know what my winter project is going to be! I'd use the lightest grit possible. Maybe start at or And the last couple passes at 12 or should be wet if you really want to polish it up. That's what I'd do, but Tod probably knows a bit better because he's done it before.

Loads swear by it tho and they cant all be wrong. My RDLC has a powder coated frame, and so do almost all restored old bikes these days. I have seen, and have parts that are factory powdercoated Chrome moly, so I think the coater doesn't know what he's talking about? Anyone with first hand Chrome Moly knowledge? Tags: None. I've don't have any knowledge on chrome moly but I've done bike frames and drag racing willi bars and no one have had any problems so far maybe they are a diferent chrome moly.
